Above is my third CASE-2X Mod 1 variant standing pose mostly completed. I say mostly because I need to restore detail lost from the conversion. Delayed by illness impacting my ability to work due to the pain in my wrists.
It's a bitch.
Again, the model is poseable. So the torso twists, the arms and head can move using magnetized ball joints.
Though I've yet to assemble the missile pack the model is largely complete.

The pose looks badass to me. Pain is a bitch ... but it's a little bitch, and you're the boss. Some days, you can say sod off, I'm having fun anyway, and some days you can say "i'm taking the day off ... my choice"! Hang in there, (Grumpy old man with Tenosynovitis being expansive after alcohol therapy).

DeleteAfter Covid I've taken the risk (joke) of going to Specsavers and have an eye-test, the last one being in 2017.
Good news.
The optician thought my eyes were okay despite not having new glasses for six years. I now have four sets on order: one for driving; one for computers; one for reading; and one for model-making.
Two new frames, and two new lenses in old frames, so I'm sans reading and model-making glasses.
So no model-making for me for the next fortnight. I've managed to cobble an old pair of glasses with an attachment for close focusing to tide me over.

I like the conversion. Can you post pics of the joints/magnets? Do rare earth magnets come in spheres now? I'm a bit (to put it mildly) out of date on hobby news myself and only recall seeing flat discs in the past. Regardless, I hope you feel better sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeleteOkay, no they don't. The spheres are steel balls. The magnets are dished to accept the steel balls. I used Greenstuff rotation magnets for Star Wars X Wing. Other dished magnets are available elsewhere.

ReplyDeleteNot sure which one I like more, this one or the neat bazooka (rail gun) wielder gear. Very cool work and definitely sparks some inspiration for future ideas.

DeleteThe cool thing about using steel balls for joints and attaching with magnets is that I can swap the weapon arms between models.
