On Being Spammed

   
It seems that this blog has become a target for spam. I thought the sarcastic comments quite a nice touch too.

"Thank you for this blog. That's all I can say. You most definitely have made this blog into something thats eye opening and important. You clearly know so much about the subject, youve covered so many bases. Great stuff from this part of the internet. Again, thank you for this blog."

So I will be switching the moderation for posts feature on, and apologise for this.

  1. Well, I was wondering about the identical comments. I didn't even notice the link tabs above the "message." I did really think it quite odd that someone was gushing on about how cool your blog was in post after post. :)

    Spammers are awful ambitious these days. Moderation is a reasonable defense.

    Does wordpress have an option for trusted commentors? Users would only have to be moderated once. Future comments are considered trusted.

  5. Gusher spam is a fact of life. I think the idiots doing it figure they are appealing to the egos of some vain moron and we will not remove their comments. my main problem was outright in your face profanity laced harassing comments. I would rather moderate than have their screeds hang about in the recent comment list for a day.
